The building selected for the demonstration of the CONIPHER concept houses the offices, the laboratory and the control room of the Vicat Montalieu-Vercieu cement plant. It is a building constructed in the 1970s, in prefabricated concrete. This building has a complex molding with 3 facade levels and large openings. In addition to its 24-hour occupancy, on a site with high security requirements, the building presents an ideal renovation exercise for the modularity of the CONIPHER system. The renovation is managed by the WS-A agency.

Laser surveying is a 3D scanning technique that captures the dimensions, shapes and contours of each element of a building in the form of a very dense point cloud. In particular, it makes it possible to produce compliant 2D plans, necessary for the layout of the building and the production of prefabricated elements with the right dimensions.

Layout refers to planning the arrangement of construction elements in order to optimize their use, minimize material loss and ensure aesthetic harmony. The layout carried out on the demonstrator allowed the treatment of 50% of a complex facade with standard sized panels (1200x600mm) whose production is rationalized, thus allowing optimization of the cost of the renovation.

The first phase of the renovation concerns the northeast wing of the building, housing the control room and the laboratory. It has 200m2 of facade to be treated with 300 CONIPHER panels. The preparation of the facade made it possible to remove the organic coating, treat the base (gutter) and the parapet, and manage the various bare areas by installing metal profiles. At the same time, the insulation and waterproofing of the roof was carried out in order to complete the next insulation of the facades.

The installation of the panels was carried out in July 2023. The chrono-analysis gives an installation rate of 20m2/d, with optimization easily accessible through training of installers, adaptation of lifting tools and means of drilling. 

The installation of the photovoltaic panels was carried out very quickly thanks to the fixing system developed by ARaymond. In fact, one day of intervention was necessary to install and connect 24 photovoltaic panels.
